Did 1968 Camaro 350 Chrome Valve Covers have an "O" stamped in them?

The OEM units have/had an 'O' stamped in the rail - no idea why ...

The covers are also asymetric.
When looking at the cover from end on, the exhaust side is higher than the intake side. |
