Can you confirm that you are running a factory 1969 Camaro External Regulator?

The reason why I'm asking to make sure you don't have a 1 wire alternator and be done with external regulator.

he's not talking about the harness he's talking about your alternator. How many wires go to it?

I plug with 2 wires and 1 red wire to post . IT is not a one wire to alt. set up It has a external voltage regulator.

Ensure wire color of new VR plug matches OE/old VR regulator and at alt connector, blue wire to F terminal and white wire to R terminal.
With test light in place, connect VR. Unplug alternator, both the two-wire plug and BATT wire. Light still on, bad VR. Light off, bad alt.

If its an external regulated alternator (original type) then make sure your new Voltage Regulator is the VR715 model...its electronic and much much better to use than the old 'points' type unit.
