I have a set of 14x6 rally wheels that I picked up several years ago from an old body shop. These are GM wheels and are coded as.
K 182 8 (valve stem hole) 30 XG. What does this mean? One still has the GM sticker on it. They are all black and appear to have never been on a car. I would like to know a value of these 4 wheels. Thanks. |

the 2 after the 8 is confusing....so with out that they are gn 1968 wheels, dated aug 30th. XG indicates 14 x 6 with disc brakes
double check on that 2...should not be there value - for a set of 4 mint condition say 150- 160 set

Since these are new stock, I would assume they may have been made at a later date. Could that be a reason there is a 2 after the 8? Was a XG wheel made in 1982? I would sure hope they are worth more than $40 a piece.

Yes, those are service replacements from 1982. The trouble with NOS service replacements are the guys looking for the correct application code "XG" in this case also are looking for original wheels with date codes that match their cars. I had a set of NOS YJs and got rid of them after finding date correct ones. Good luck!

Thanks Kevin, that is what I was thinking. Do you have a recommendation on asking price?

$40-$50 a piece sounds about right for 14x6. If they were 14x7 or 15x6/7 it would be a different story!
I picked up used 14x6 FC rims (similar to XG) for around $20 each. |

Ok, thanks. I do have a pair of 15x6 rallys that are also new GM and a pair of used 14x7 plain steel wheels. I will check the codes on those as well.

for the 15x6, you want the DF code (67-68 Z-28), for the 14x7, XT is the code (69 SS/copo). If the 14x7 code is IF, then it is Nova and others 1970 and up and they are worth less than the XT, but still command decent prices for people cloning copos. Luck on your search!
