I have a 69 Camaro with a 307 engine and powerglide trans. After a year of driving it without a problem, the accelerator pedal now sticks when I depress the pedal about half way. This only happens when the car is in gear and on the road. It will not happen in neutral or park, or when I jacked up the back end and put the car in drive. The linkage seems fine with no obstructions. When it sticks I can usually stab the pedal several times and it will come back. The carb also seems to work fine mechanically. Any Ideas?

This may seem like a little simplistic, but did you check your throttle return spring. It may have lost it's strength. If you don't have one at all, I would recommend adding one.
Thought I should mention, my '69 originally had a 307. I still have the manifold, carburator, air cleaner, and I think I still have the valve covers if you are interested. The carb would have to be rebuilt of course. [This message has been edited by GeorgeK (edited 07-01-99).] |
