I am assuming it is a 350/300hp with no A/C and no power steering.
Here are the answers:
what are the proper part numbers for:
standard fan - 3927791 is a 4 blade fan, you would also need the 3927792 spacer with that fan
water pump pulley- 3932402 single groove
7 blade clutched fan
(I have one with hard to read numbers, either
4939899 or 4839899 or 4889899)- 393996 is the number but not used on non A/C car
water pump pulley if different for clutched fan- not used on non A/C car
thermostat housing - 3877660
Crank Pulley - 3956664 is a single groove crank pulley
bell housing - 3899621 for the 11 inch clutch
(I have a 3858403)
what size flywheel/clutch/ring gear?
(any aftermarket suggestions appreciated) 3998281 is the correct flywheel, 168 tooth ring gear, 11 inch clutch
now, about the vacuum fitting on the intake manifold..... 3891525 - should have fitting for brake booster line and fitting for R/S hose on other side opposite
this is a RS car without AC - how many big ports and how many small ports on the vacuum fitting? one big (brakes), one small (hide-away lights)
does it connect to a metal pipe with threaded fitting that heads toward the power brake booster, or should it be a simple vacuum hose and clamp? connects with threaded fitting
Check out my site in my signature and you'll see pics of an L48
I would sideline and store the 403 bell housing with 300+ HP and opt for a scattershield. Helps keep those nifty little disks where they belong in case you ever launch a disk or explode the assembly. The flywheel, I would opt for an aftermarket 30 LB SFI approved unit. And the clutch and pressure plate could be 10.5". I prefer McLeod or a good quality Hays Disk. As for the 300HP parts, not positive on these numbers but will offer what I have. Just not sure how many of these numbers are common for 69 motors and which are reserved for 302CI. Maybe someone else will elaborate further and verify these.
3946049 Fan clutch ?
3947772 Fan blade ?
3932402 Pulley water pump (350 Non AC)
3877660 Thermost housing
3858403 Bell housing,10.4 clutch
A bigger radiator, and a clutch fan. Radiator went from a 21" two core small block radiator, to a 3 core, 23" big block radiator. Same as if the car came with A/C.
Not quite. 2 separate options.
K02 is the clutched fan.
V01 is the HD rad, which bumps it from a 2 core to a 3 core, but in 69 doesn't change the width. It is the same as if the car had AC.
Most SS350 and 396 cars (excluding L78's) used the base 4 blade fan.
