I'ver got a 1969 RS/SS 350. The engine, trans(muncie 3 spd) and rear are original to the car. The car was unrestored when I got it 10 years ago. For kicks I ran the numbers on the carb and I'm very confused.

The numbers are 7029224
1564

I have the Chevy By Numbers book and can't come up with this number(7029224). I was able to tell that this carb seems like it's actually for an automatic car based on the last digit of 4. The book shows no carb number with 224 for the last three digits, though the second digit is for division. According to the book Chevy is designated by 0,1 or 2 in this position so I guess that could be legit. What doesn't make sence is the fourth digit 9 which indicates the year(1969) but what's up with the 4 in the date code?

Any thoughtds?

The date is for a replacement carb.

Over the counter in other words.

I found that number in the GM to AC Delco part number conversion but that does not tell me what it fits.

But I can tell you the following parts nubers all convert to the same AC Delco part number 24-3034;

7029200
7029201
7029202
7029203
7029204
7029207
7029214
7029215
7029223
7029224

What you have is most likely a service part, sold thru parts department as replacement.

Looked it up last night in AC Delco ~ Rochester Parts (breakdown) Catalogue.

Fits 1969 Chevrolet p/u truck with 350 cubic inch engine.
