Maybe. We know it wasn't a SS or Z. We should be able to narrow it down more.

What axle is in the car? The #'s from it will help tell if it is original.
Multileaf springs?
Disc brakes?
Single or dual fuel lines?

Also, could you recheck your NOR #? There should be 6 digits.

It has a single fuel line & a single spring leaf in the rear. Drum brakes on the front. Try this # NOR232588BDY

Single fuel line means it wasn't a Quadrajet engine. Monoleafs were used on the base engine vehicles, meaning it was a 327 or 307.
Your car was built just as they were starting to switch from the 327 to the 307. I'd guess it a 307 car, but since we don't have the start of 307's nailed down, it is a guess on my part.

Ok, what you have here based on the numbers you just supplied is a 1968 327cu 250hp engine w/ powerglide 2sp tranny from a full size Chevrolet. Oh, it was built in the Towanda engine plant on June 27th. Oh and the S in 18S267105 means that the full size car that this engine was originally mated w/ was built in St. Louis. Hope this helps.

The powerglide mentioned by elcamino came behind that NOM 327.

Did the car have a console originally (special rivet/bolts hold the console to the floor, hard to duplicate, easy to see)? What size hole is in the tunnel?
If the car was an automatic, it was powerglide. Manual could be a 3 or 4 speed Saginaw.
