Anybody have a way to verify what flywheel #3971021 came off of? I would be interested in hearing about it's original application.
Thank you in advance!

That makes a big difference.

That flywheel carried a GM part number of 3973452 and has the following applications:

67-69 Camaro 302 - then it says solid type (casting #3791021)
68 All 307 with HD clutch
69-73 All 307
64-68 All 327 with HD Clutch
69 Passenger 327 w/reg fuel (non HP)
69 Passenger 350 w/reg fuel (non HP)

All this is from my GM parts book from 1977.

I forgot to mention, It should have a casting date which would tell you the
month, date and year.

Thanks Jonesy! This was what I was looking for.. I needed this information because the flywheel is a 153 tooth light weight iron unit that I have in front of my T56. Instead of using the Centerforce flywheel that they claim you must use, I bought this one for $30 at a junk yard and it works perfectly! I was told that it came out of a third gen camaro but never knew for sure. This time when the motor was out I wrote the numbers down. Amazing how much interchangeability there is between different years and models.
