Were there more than one style of valve covers used on the 69 DZ302? I've only
seen the aluminum with fins and Chevy cross flags. Additionally on what side is the oil filler cap. Mine is on the left valve cover. However, I'm looking at a picture in a Camaro book which shows the oil filler on the right. Which side is correct? It appears the covers could be swapped. |

DZ302's all used the aluminum valve covers you are talking about. Also, I have heard that some of the SS-350's had these valve covers (as part of the engine dress-up package). Not sure about that, though....
As far as the oil fill location...I believe all SB's came from the factory with the oil filler on the drivers side (by the brake booster). Steve |

69 Z's all used the same aluminum valve covers. They did not have drippers. 70-3 also used them, but they had drippers as did most service parts.
SS350's could not be ordered with them. There was no RPO for an engine dress-up kit. Just an urban myth. ------------------ Kurt S. www.camaros.org |
