I have a 69 camaro I bought back in the early 80's. It was all orginal and had 307 badges and the motor is stamped T0102DD. The motor however has a 4.00" bore with a 3.48 Stroke (350). Any ideas on why this motor was stamped DD and is it possible it was mislabled by the factory. I'm 99% sure the motor was never pulled before I bought it, beside I don't think you could bore a 307 to 4.00". Any ideas or thought on this.

I'm not much of a 307 specialist, but I thought the 307 had a standard bore of 4 inches..I know the 305 doesn't..DD is a 69 307...

307 bore is 3.875". Engine plant mis-code is highly unlikely. Does it have a 9-digit VIN derivative on the front pad or on the vertical as-cast surface above the oil filter?

Here are some more numbers that are on the block. I couldn't find any that match the VIN number though.

Above oil filter on bell. "3932371"
Cast in tag passside bell "L118"
back side of block 636-678 386-371 371-386-63N

After removing the paint I found VERY lightly stamped some of the VIN numbers vertically above the oil filter. "19N?72541". This almost matches the last numbers of the VIN 79N572541.

Block is correct for a '69 Camaro 307 casting, cast on December 11, 1968, and appears to be original to the car. This block was never used for anything except 307's, from '68-'73 in both cars and trucks. Can't imagine it would accept a .125" overbore and survive, but stranger things have happened. I'm stumped.

That's the earliest Camaro we've seen a 307 engine in, so far.
Could you post the trim tag #'s or email them to me?
And I'd be interested in any trans or axle #'s you find.
