It appears to be legit. The LA built camaros do not have X (or Z) codes. Time frame for the build date is ok but I'm not sure about the VIN in relation to build. Did the LA plant have different VIN sequences? Also, the VIN is stamped on the front pad and double stamped on the transmission. I thought the block stamp was supposed to be by the oil filter, unless LA did things differently.

Looks legit. The LA built cars had the VIN stamped up on the engine pad except for a short period in late 68 I believe. The VIN being stamped twice in the trans is pretty common as well.

Looks legit to me also but not 100% original. The smog system is missing.
My Feburary LA built car has the VIN on the pad and was twice stamped on the transmission. Also had the build sheet on top of the gas tank and I would guess this pace car still has it there also.
Nice car!!

I noticed that too, but if you look closer, it appears to be a reflection. The spoiler does appear to have been touched up with black (looks like some sag at the bottom).

Overall, pretty nice car and it is definately legit. I show pacers before and after from LA.
