I am thinking of converting my 67 Camaro Convertable single leaf springs to the new five leaf design. Can anyone help me figure out what modifications are required to do this.

From the NPD catalog... "be advised that multileaf springs are wider at the mounting point than the orginal monoleaf and will fit snugly in the monoleaf perch, requiring alteration of multi-leaf mounting cushions" they sell a kit (part # c-7454-01k) for $43.95. this kit only lists 68-69 yet the 5-leaf springs lists for 67-81, so you may want to call them. see year one has one listed for $69 with no year range stated. sounds like it's a pretty easy swap, but i've never done it.

Yeah Rick, I have replaced my mono with multileaf springs. buy new springs should have the front bushing in them buy 8 shackle bushings,6 clips for front spring perches 2 u-bolts,and 4 spring pads for multileaf springs.Remove the rearend as an assembly with the springs, flip the diff upside down.remove the old springs, now drill a hole dead centre of the plate on the housing big enough for the nipple on the pad to sit in. Place the pad on the spring and lube the sides push it down and place a pad on the bottom of the spring covering it with the shock plate. Use the u-bolt closest to the brake and use regular bolts on the inside and tighten repeat for the other side . Now flip the diff rightside up roll it under the car and put it in. replace the frame clips and take your time to install new bolts they can be fun, replace shackle bushings.I had to put longer shocks because with thicker springs the shocks were to short. Have fun. Garry.
