I'm about to replace the front coil springs on a 69 SS-350 this weekend...fun. TRW, Eaton/Detroit and Moog all make excellent products. But of these three, which do you think would work best, all things being equal, as a stock replacement coil spring for my rig?

Do you really want a stock rate?
Are you planning on lowering the car?
I don't think there is a lot of difference between the springs. Note - Moog and Federal Mogul are owned by the same company and use the same parts.
I wouldn't doubt the other MFR's use the same parts just reboxed, but I'm not sure.

Hey David. I appreciate your responding. I've read some of your postings and it's obvious David knows suspensions! Yes, on this particular car I want a stock-as-a-rock appearance and ride heigth. If you were me, and you were replacing 32 yr old coils, which of these makers would you choose? I have easy access to all three via local parts houses. Yes, I realize new coils will elevate the front end a little more an inch I'm told, and I'm ok with that. I'm old school...not into lowering the car and high spring rates, etc. The rate of spring will be about 337 lbs. The no-load height is 16.06...the loaded hieght is 10.75 at 1800 lbs (I believe 1800 is correct). All three of these manufacturers have a spring at these stock specs. Your thoughts?

Hey Sleepy-69,

Can ya' let us know what you decide to go with and how it looks / rides when you are done? I'm old-school as well and want to do the same w/ my 69.

Thanks and good luck,
Rob
