Quick question. My new pitman arm came with a zerk fitting in the box but the arm itself is not drilled for the zerk fitting. Am I supposed to drill it myself in the stock location on the back side of the stud and screw in the fitting? Or do I go without the fitting?

My new Pitman arm is sealed and doesn't require the fitting these days. MOOG item.

I haven't seen anything that was permenently lubricated that lasted as long as a regular joint.
I've seen posts that those newer pitman arms have gotten loose very quickly under open track conditions. If you can find a way to grease it, I'd say do it. But that's just my opinion...

Poopy,
Where was the hole? On the back side of the arm opposite the stud?

Look close, the hole may be filled with grease and you can't see it.
