I just spent the last few hours searching and reading any posts that mentioned the word subframe (and boy are my eyes tired). I see mention of a DSE subframe now and then, but no real info on when it could be available.

I emailed DSE, but never saw a response to my question. So hopefully one of the people that mentioned they knew about the product may (or may not) be able to answer my question.

Does anyone know if the DSE subframe will use stock style control arms? Or are they looking to do what most others are doing and use the corvette stuff?

I've made a substantial investment in control arms, as have many of you guys. Now i've had my subframe checked and it's got a severe (1 1/4") difference in the height of the front of the rails.

I've got to decide on either fixing this one (is a bent frame ever really fixed?), finding a stock replacement from camaro or nova, or going the aftermarket route and possibly not being able to use 1200 dollars worth of control arms.

I like DSE's products and was hoping since they made the control arms/coil over suspension, they'd incorporate them into the subframe they are building. But in the search i did, i saw as far back as nearly 2 years ago. Mention of the new DSE subframe coming "soon".

Sorry for being long winded.
Any ideas?

Brian

Perfect!

Now if they would get this thing out by this fall, I'd still be on track.

It will use all his own components, but not the same ones he now has; nearly everything will be a new design. As of this morning his projected date is it will be in production mid to late summer.

Jody, do you know if these new components such as control arms will fit stock frames?

I do not believe so. I think the advantage of his own subframe is to get away from the geometry issues of the factory front suspension. I believe it's a clean sheet of paper design, using his designated pieces.

So jody you are saying my DSE control arms will not fit the new subframe?

Anybody got a straight stock subframe they want to get rid of?

When I spoke with Kyle at SEMA he didn't give a lot of info about it. But I do believe he said they'd be different since he was designing a completely new front clip. It will allow 275's up front and have rack and pinion steering.

I just talked to Kyle yesterday, and I brought up the subframe among other things. The info that Jody gave is right on the money. There will be more details on availability in the coming months. He's also going to take a bunch of digital pics of their new shop once they get their new awnings, and I'll be posting them on my site. He also ordered an Alumin8r poster from me for their shop.

So now how will this compare with Wayne Dues fron sub? I will be looking for a front sub this spring but if Detroits is better I will wait for this Fall. And make it a winter vs weekend project. Will I still be able to use my Baer fronts? Heck the rest can all go with my old sub.
Thanks,
Mike

Unhappy

Thought I would throw this out..

There is somebody that makes a custom S/F that will fit 315 tires up front but I forget who, but NOT the price b/c it is like $10,000 or so...

Campbell Auto Restoration makes one. They're in Campbell, CA. Great guys and they build some pretty nice cars as well.
