I have obtained the rotors and calipers for this project, and now need the adapters. Also, I am not familiar with the "baskets" Are these a sort of adapter.
I have the material provided by David Pozzi and attributable to Rich Downing. Any information or assistance with this project would be appreciated. Thank You, Mike Burke |

the "basket" is the part that bolts to the spindle that the caliper goes into. you might have gotten them with the calipers if you got them used, but they are sold seperate from new or reman calipers. if you have a drill press and a skil saw with a metal blade, the brackets are easy to make- just get the template from David pozzi's site and make a bracket out of 1/4" wood as a mock up to get everything to fit right, then transfer it over to 1/4" steel. not too hard, but a bit time consuming. right and left are the same.
as for the drum brake spindles, you need to cut the top boss down level with the other 2 mounting "ears" at the bottom of the spindle. use grade 8 bolts to hold everything together- head to an implement store with the stock lower steering arm to spindle bolts and get the same length for that, and for the top use a 5/8 fine thread bolt that is about 1' long. why buy the hardware at an implement store? because they usually sell bolts to farmers by the pound, instead of by the bolt like at hardware stores. about $5 will buy you all the bolts, nuts, and washers you need there, as opposed to probably $10-$15 at a hardware store. plus the "help" is usually better there.
