I plan to use Hotchkiss front springs to lower my 67 Camaro. Should I buy one of the offset upper control arm shafts?

I don't see why you'd need the offset shaft especially if you run the specs on my web page.

I've seen the "offset shafts" advertised by Global West but never really thought to ask what their purpose is. I know they suggest using them with their Del-a-Lum control arm bushings since they have studs rather than bolts to hold the bushings in. What other purpose do they serve?

I have the hotchkis springs installed with the stock control arm shaft. I did relocate the front upper control arm mounting point 5/8" lower. I just had my car aligned and was able to get -1 camber with only 1-2 shims. It really made a difference in how it handles.

I made a template from sheetmetal that fit the existing holes and had a small hole to mark where to drill the new mounting point. I saw the information in a magazine about the Thrasher that Mark Steilow was building. The article tells what size drill bit to use also.

Will the offset upper, control arm shaft accomplish the same thing. As in making not having to use as many shimms to get the alighnment done. Also they say these springs lower the car 2 inchs did you get that much of drop from yours? Are satisfide with them after having them in the car. FYI I have found the offset shafts for $35.00 each side with stock rubber bushings and hardware. they are at expressautoparts.com

Joe, as for the relocation of the a-arm mounting points try a search under "guldstrand mod" it was a very hot topic this past winter. also take a look at david pozzi's web page, he's got a template on there and some very useful information
