A few weeks ago, I crashed my 1967 SS350 clone. Car meets tree....not a pretty sight. I was probably going about 10-15 mph when I hit the tree in the passenger side headlight area. Every body panel from the windshield forward with the exception of the drivers side fender will need to be replaced. Also, I will need a new passenger inner fender and a new radiatior core support, since it is bent up and pushed back on the passenger side. It looks like the damage is just sheetmetal, but I want to be absolutely sure the subframe isn't bent before I go to the work to replace the front clip. The car still drives fine and doesn't feel any different than it did before the incident with the oak. There isn't any more vibration than there was before the accident, just a lot of rattles in th front clip. Therefore, to get to the point, I need to get the factory spec dimensions of the front subframe...i.e. the distances between the frame rails at various points, etc. I would sincerely appreciate any help I can get here. I'm not a body man, but I know of one that was checking a car to see if the frame was bent and it makes sense to me. Choose some reference points like the rear of the subframe and make a criss cross measurement to another reference point like the middle body mount. Just using these points for examples but use ones that are furthest apart as possible, and compare the two measurements, if they are off by a considerable amount you may have a problem. Let me know what you come up with, good luck.

Get the Body by Fisher assembly manual. It has all the reference points and distances between them. Great info. CarlC brought one over when we installed my new body mounts and was impressed with the info contained in it.

I have the 1967 Chevrolet Shop Manual, which lists the spec measurements and reference points for all the 1967 Chevrolet frames except the Camaro's. Does the Body by Fisher manual have the specs in it?

I believe the shop manual covers driveline and maintenance issues, whereas the Body by Fisher manual covers frame and body, window regulators, glass, seats, headliners, trim items, etc. It even tells you how to clean the carpets. This and the assembly manuals are the two best referance guides available.
