New to the board, and looking for some answers to a power steering conversion.
I have a 67 camaro manual rear steer. I have a 73 nove rear steer gear box with pitman arm. I also am installing 69 front disc brakes and steering arms. Questions are: 1. Can I use the gear box with the pitman arm or use the 67 pitman arm. 2. should I use the entire steering linkage for the nova, or the linkage for the 67. 3. Will this work with the 69 steering arms. Thanks! |

Use all the Nova parts.
Check your pitman arm for looseness. Don't use a "Pickle Fork" to remove the pitman arm or idler from the center link, it will tend to damage them. There is a puller that presses on the nut end of the stud that is better. The center links are the same, but the later one is more likely to be a larger diameter and that is the best one to use. when I changed mine, I rented the puller from Autozone on their loan a tool program. It was free to use.
