I bought a Camaro RS 68 and I've just found out it has three leaves on one side of the rear suspension and only one leaf on the other. I would like to know which is the correct number of leaves for the original model.

I was told that 67s had single leaf and 68s had 3 leaf.
Just as a kicker ... I was under the impression that 67s had coil springs ... or was this just firetirds???

Coil springs?????????

Fleecedog, where did you come from???????? Coil springs didn't come out until 82!!!

And where did you get firetird from???? Are you a FORD geek, or what???????

ViCar, please be careful who you are taking advise from. I'm not sure where fleecerdog is coming from, but I'm quite sure he isn't a GM or a Camaro Guru like most people in here are.

I would question anyone that rips on any fellow GM products. Just my opinion.

since no one answered your question; 68"s came with both a single leaf and a three leaf set up but not on oppisite sides. It sounds like someones bad idea to fix a wheel hop problem.I'd go with a new three leaf set up

Well, here is the right answer. All 67's had monoleaf springs. All 68's and 69's had monoleaf EXCEPT the Z/28, which had 4 leaves, and the SS cars, which had 5 leaves. There were no 3 leaf springs, and if the car had one type on one side, the other one matched it.

Thanks a lot. I've already bought a set of monoleaf to match the one i had. I'm glad I didn't buy a three leaf set.
