I would like to get some information on upgrading the suspension on 1967 and 1968 Camaros. What I am looking for are modifications geared toward road race type handling but with spring rates tame enough for the street. Is there a need for rack and pinion steering with these cars and if so is there a kit available? I understand that Baer makes pretty good brake kits and seriously considering using them. Any comments from those of you using them? Thanks for your input.

I am restorng a 67 Camaro and upgraded my front sprints to coilovers! I am told they give you the new ride feeling but they handle like a road race car! I am still rebuilding so I don't how they respond, but people tell me they will out perform the stock springs! I got Carrera's kit for about $425. I hope this helps!

Thanks Mike. In case your interested I've come to find out that Global West just released a new front end system for early Camaros. It requires a new Wilwood brake system due to some modifications they made. Sounds sweet but expensive! Not sure how much it costs but I'm considering it anyway. I also came across an article in August issue of Super Chevy which reveiws a rack and pinion conversion by Steeriods. Looks good! I think the combination of the above would produce a quick handling Camaro.
