I'm currently bolting 2" drop spindles from classic performance on my 67 rs. I plan on going with 16" weld draglite wheels. Does anyone know what the backspacing needs to be and how wide a tire I can go with. Also, how wide on the rear without relocating shock mounts. Thanks, Bill

there aren't a lot of people here that like drop spindles. with them, you run into interference between the tie rod and tire or rim. it really limits how much backspace you can run. the cheaper, easier, and better way seems to be to get lowering springs.

Thanks for the reply novaderrik however, I don't think the steering arms become a problem being the tie rod position doesn't change much at all because they are lowered on the spindles to account for the drop and I've learned in proven past experiences cutting or shortning the springs really results in poor ride/handling problems. Anyway, I've put them on with my current 14/7 with a 60 series 245 and have pretty good clearance. I will try the Super chevy test with the flat metal and all thread b4 the rim/tire purchase. Just checking to see if anyone has the same package I'm shooting for??
