I,m going with 17x8 rims on the front of my 69 , it will be lowered between two to three inches , what backspacing will work out so it won't rub . The one rim I.m looking at has a 4 1/2 backspace .

I don't think 4 1/2 will be enough, it will be to close to the fender. You will need 4 3/4 to 5 inches of backspacing. I'm running 17x8 wheels on all four corners with 5 inches of backspacing. My car is lowered 2 inches in the front, 1 1/2 in the rear. I'm also running Baer 4 wheel disk brakes. If your not running disk backspacing might be slightly different. For tires I have 235/45/17 for the front and 255/45/17 in the rear. If you do a search on this subject you will find lots of information it has been covered many times.

No this thing also has 4 wheel disc , it has the QA1 shocks in front and multi leaf in the rear with the shocks inboard of the springs .What about 17x7 with a 4 inch backspace should work .I want to run the same size tire you have in front and 275/45/17 rear, is the seven inch rim to narrow for a 235/45/17 tire .
