i'm building a 383 and i was wondering what the piston side clearence should be. they are hypereutectic pistons. also what ring end gap should i run, The motor will probably be about 350 to 400 HP, and it will never see nitrous or forced induction. any ideas?

James,
Both answers depend on what manufacturer and part number piston you are running, period. The piston manufacturer should have supplied a spec sheet with the pistons, or on the box label specifying the piston to wall clearance. The rings should have come with a sheet telling you what end gap to run in most situations. The only exceptions to beware of is the KB hypereutectic pistons, which require larger than normal top ring gap ... also specified in the piston instruction sheet.
Also, a lot of pistons now days are coming with coatings on the skirt. The only thing you can do with those is to follow the bore size recommendations on the box label.
Any attempt to tell you some numbers would be just guessing without that information.
