The car I'm working on was modified from a 327 to a 350c.i. I don't know when it was done? I'm having a problem identifying my 4 speed tranny. The only No.s I found were GM1 then under that 3825656. I have tried to identify the numbers but I might not be looking in the right place?Any help would be appreciated! Nellie

The numbers you are looking for are stamped into the main case, on the passenger side, on a rail where the tailhousing and center bearing plate meet the main case. It should look something like this

P8D01A 18N300123

These are what you're looking for.
