My '69 has a headlamp switch in need of replacement (jiggle the knob to get the dash lamps to illuminate). Can anyone advise me how the knob/handle is removed from the switch so I can remove the switch from under the dash?

Any hints would be appreciated.

There is a button on the back of the switch thea you must push. At the same time pull on the switch knob. You may have to rotate it before (like dimming the dash lights) it will line up and pull out... Be sure to disconnect your batt before you begin.

That will let you get to the nut that holds the rest of the switch in place...

glenn396,
Take a look at the front of the switch when you get it off. Usually there is slight corrosion or dirt on the coil spring resistor, or the finger that goes against it. Clean it up and it should work.
