I am installing a 502 crate motor in a 1967 camaro. The new starter only has a positive terminal and one small terminal for the starter wiring. I need to know which wire to hook up. The yellow or the purple wire from the wiring harness and should I terminate the one I don't use. Thank you.

The purple wire from the harness hooks up to the small terminal on the starter. The yellow wire is used to bring 12V back to the positive side of the coil when cranking; it was used with point type systems only to ease starting. You won't need it with any electronic ignition. I just tucked mine up in the loom neatly.

With the electronic ignition, don't forget to replace the original resister wire from the firewall connector to the distributor.
