My system got infected sometime yesterday with a new worm called W32.Netsky.C@mm my norton caught it last night on my DAILY virus scan but it imbedded and caused Norton to quarintine over 3,000 files.
If you folks are not using anti virus systems and running them daily, these worms and crap will really mess up your computer.

I've gotten 20 or so infected mails this week on my work address. None at home though ?. McAfee has recognized each one fortunately. Too bad it cleans them or I would send them to the Nigerian scammers talked about in another post.

Got the W32.NETSKY... on an email today. Norton caught it before it got in. Be careful.

Just when you think it's over....

TC members, watch out for the next one! We got hit pretty hard at work with Netsky and now it's Bagle.c. Just got home from setting up automated updates to my desktops that will run on next login. Already had several infections occur before we could put something in place

Update your Antivirus programs

If the subject line of an email has any words spelled with different caPItoLizAtion, s pac es in the wo r ds, contains obviously misspelled words, begins with Re:, or otherwise cannot be deciphered with a quick glance, I don't even bother looking at who sent it. I Delete it without a seond thought.

If I even question who the person is and the subject line has nothing to do with Camaros or myself personally, I delete it without a second thought. If it was important enough and was legit, they'll resend it to me.
There's no way to get a virus by simply receiving a malicious email.

Thats not entirely true...

Some email virus have code written that when Outlook or Outlook Express is set to preview mode that the code will actually run and launch the virus. Thats why most of the virus creators target the Microsoft platform to launch these stupid things and propagate them quickly

Please make sure to update your virus software often to protect youself from this garbage

Cheers,
Tom

however, when you look at someone car and close the window and are told 'your clock may be wrong' don't click on the okay tab.
that sends your email address to some spammers.
