I'd like to tidy up the engine compartment and one item I want to do is move the negative battery cable from being bolted to the alternator top bracket to one of the motor mount bolts. Are there any other good/better locations?

I bolted mine to a spare boss on the front of the block down by the fuel pump.

Thanks all. I found an unused, tapped hole on the right front of the block and used that. Of course, since one thing leads to another, I saw that the cables were green and replaced them, too!
