I am new to this board, and I would like to mark everything past as read, so I can easily see the new posts as they come up. Is there a way I can do this?
Thanks,
-Seattle Sam

I'm having the same problem and I've tried upgrading my browsers and using different browsers. IE6, Netscape7, and the latest Mozilla... The best I hav gotten it to work is to close the browase and open a new one but that doesn't change them all the time. I even tried the link under the profile link to update post indicators and it is hit and mis. Even killing the cookie and getting a new one didn't make it better. I use Win 2000 and NT4.0 it doesn't matter.

I did find this:
http://community.infopop.net/2/OpenT...e&submit1=Find but it doesn't give much help.

click on 'my profile' at the top right of these pages and click on:

Update New Post Indicators

that should do what you want.

Al - it works at times but not all the time... I think it's something we are stuck with!

this is a direct quote from Brett Harris (Infopop)
Quote:
I wish that it were just a simple tweak to "make it all right" but there are a vast number of complexities sometimes in the rendering of those bulbs.

I personally prefer to use my MyPop™ pages and digests to keep up on what's new as opposed to relying on the bulbs.
Any idea what Brett is refering to "MyPop pages and digests"?

they have two other styles of forums. One is hosted by them and the other is ubbthreads. ubbthreads looks similar to this but the programming is entirely different. sounds like the features he mentions are part of the other program.

Thanks Al,

I'm finding that closing the browser and opening it again seems to be the most effective...

Thanks Al and DjD, the "update posts" deal in the profile only gave partial results last night, but just now it cleared them all for me.

Now, to see if I can keep up!

Cheers!
