Like a lot of the 69 camaros out there, mine has been chopped on to stuff a new style radio in it, though whoever did it did a good job, I still want the original look. Has anyone bought one of those new dash carrier assemblies that just came out, they cost like $230 bucks, I want to know if its worth it, and if all the screw holes line up and if they are built worth a crap.

I wasn't aware that the dash assemblies were actually available yet. I know they are lisetd in everyone's catalog including Dakota Digital's but I haven't been able to find anyone that stocks it yet.

Have you confirmed availability???

I got a nice used one myself and had it refurbished. I found it on EBAY and paid 100.00 for it and paid another 75.00 to have it redone.

SR--When you say redone, do you mean they redid the chrome lettering? If so, could you let me know who did the work. I have an excellent carrier that just needs the detail stuff done properly. Thanks in advance.

GeorgeK, Yea. I mean it looks brand new!!! You can call 1-800-711-0125.

firewheelclassics.com

They also redo steering wheels. They do wonderful work.

JM69,

What difference does it make if it is chromed or if it is painted and looks identical to the chrome???. The original chrome wears off the same way that the silver paint does. What is the upside on actually having the letering chromed vs. painted??? I must have missed something here (it happens!!).

I called Firewheel today and yes it is $75.00. However, they are painting the trim and lettering silver not chrome. I brought this topic up a couple of months ago and I found several places that will rechrome the part, but it is about $200. Do a search and you should be able to find it.
