this should probably go under parts wanted, but i saw quite a few people talking about replacing their seat belts with 5 pts, so here goes...i'm in need of a '69 (think '68 will also work, not sure about '67) Camaro Front Seat Belt Retractor for driver's side in black. i have the right side of the belt with the buckle, i just need the left side retractable portion that attaches to the floor and houses the "snap" portion. i had a price of $40, but can't get in touch with the seller again. thought this was a little high. if someone has one or can find one reasonable (cheap) please email me. thanks!!!

Kevin, would you buy repro belts. Used set aren't that expensive so why pay hundreds for a set. I think a repro retractor is like $90. Way too overpriced

Actually I might but I have not seen them other than in catalogs. My point is why would you want to buy 30 year-old belts? Odds are the used ones have the same problem as the old ones right? Besides the NHRA makes you change you belts every TWO years - how strong to you think 30 year-old belts are?

YOu might also try to contact SSnake-Oyl products - they'll reweb your existing belts...

my problem is i don't have the driver's side at all. i have not found anywhere that sells just the retractor portion (my buckle side off the belt is fine) and the cheapest i've found a complete belt was about $100 (npd).

Call Snake Oyl at (903) 526-4500. They have a stock of used seat belt components or can get you what you need. I just got a set of restored and rewebbed rear seat belts. Mom threw mine away several years ago when I lived at home. She cost me $225.

I also sent them my front seat belts. Kevin is right, I would not have wanted to be in an accident with the original belts.

Kevin, good point. I kind of already knew that Mike was without one, not replacing one. Although that two year rule is in effect for the NHRA I have noticed that at some tracks they are not that strict on spectator night. Tech inspections seems to last seconds on a busy night. But your right, safety first even if its not enforced.
Mike, I seen a ad from someone that advertises parts all the time and he has a set of blue seat belts for sale and mentioned at the end that he has some other misc belts and to contact him if you were just looking for misc seat belts and not whole sets. Sounds like he had some misc belts, all Camaro. He's worth a try anyway. His email address is JTA3870407@aol.com

I dug through my "spare" parts box and sure enough I do have that end of the seat belt. It's from a 69, but it's green. I guess the memory isn't so good any more!
