my bucket seat, seems to be worn out there is no firmness at all.
Is it the spring thats bad or the foam cushion?

Could be both. The springs are prone to break, and the foam loses its resilience. I had one seat with all but one springs broken. The other only had one broken bolster spring, but I elected to replace both the springs, and bought new foam seat cushions and backs.
