I have a 69 SS with a black DELUXE interior. The problem is that the trim plate # is 711 which is the standard interior. How can I tell if it has been switched or what happened? Thanks for any help.

I'd be more concerned that the tag had been switched. Post the VIN and tag info.

On the other hand it is not difficult to swap interiors. The door glass regulators and handle mechanisms must be changed, remainder is easy.

I finally got around to getting the numbers. The tag is:
12437 NOR 136933
TR 711 53B
09D X55

The VIN is: 124379 N 689708

What can you tell by these? Other than: Coupe V8 Norwood, Black standard interior,
Glacier blue, Black vinyl top, built 4th week Sept. base model w/ Z27

William is right but stranger things have happened. Changing it to a deluxe interior is easy.
My '69 came to me with a green interior but supposedly it was black from the factory (711). Go figure.

The trim tag :

12437 NOR 136933
TR711 53B
09D X55

VIN:
124379 N 689708

Can you tell if the two numbers jive?
