Question

My rear seat looks different than any i've seen or noticed. It's delux interior and has a metal plate screwed to the back of the seat with the top being round. Its about 3/4 inch above rear deck. It doesn't fold down in any way that i can tell and the hangers for it are alot different than another 67 i had with delux interior or my 67 with standard interior. Anybody have any ideas?

Lonnie, I've got the same trim piece at the top of my rear seat back and it is a deluxe fold down.

Talking

Hello white RSSS, Boy am I glad your close. I might have to look at your seat to see what I need. My interior is deluxe. Sounds like there may be a difference between standard & deluxe. Talk later.

It does sound like a fold-down. Give it a good pull. One way to check is to look through the trunk to the back of the seat. With regular seats, you may see the seat springs. With the fold down, there will be a cardboard liner.

Try wiggling the top of the seat and see if it feels like it will move, and then give it a good hard pull. The latches hold it closed pretty well.

And there are differences between reg and fold down. The biggest, for folddowns, is probably the lack of hanger hooks welded to the unibody. I am lucky in that both my '67s have the fold down option (both deluxe interior, one black, one bright blue).

I can pop it loose, but its not connected to anything. I can just pull the seat all the way out. I guess I'm missing some parts. Through the trunk I see the carpet on the back of the seat.
