According to the book "Trans-Am, the pony car wars 1966 to 1972" by Dave Friedman.
Page 167.
The minimum dry weight for Trans-Am was 2900 lbs until 1970, then it was raised to 3200 lbs. It also states starting in 1970-"The cars could weigh a maximum of 3400 lbs with fuel and driver".

I read an article which talked about the '67 Penske Trans Am Camaro. In this article it said that the car somehow avoided the scale for most of '67 and when it was weighed turned out to be underweight by quite a margin... it was only 2700 lbs or so. In '68 they reused the same underweight car by tricking the tech inspectors.

I didn't think of it before, but SCCA had the Trans-Am professional series, but also had the A sedan amature series. I don't know if the weights were the same.
Here is a link that mentions a weight: http://www.amx-perience.com/transam_1970.htm
Which series are you interested in?
