Posting this for a good friend,

He has a 68 Camaro with power windows, the master switch is broken.

What other years are interchangeable and does anyone reproduce this item? If not reproduced, can the original be rebuilt and if so any recomendations would be great.

Thks

Rich

Rich, since no-one else has answered, I'll say Hi!

I think the 4 position master is still available from the Camaro parts houses, but The singles were the hard ones to get. I don't have a catlog handy, so I can't verify. I will look when I get home.

I've never taken mine apart, so I don't know if they can be fixed. As with any electrical part, usually the contacts have burnt. If it can be taken apart and cleaned, it should work for a little while longer.

I see your from Eatontown, ever bring your Chevelle over to the Great Adventure Outlets cruise (how bout your friend with the 68)? The next one is Friday August 31st, 6-10, but it fills up by 6, so we are trying to get there by 4 to get the primo spots. A couple of the local Camaro guys go there. Lots (1000+) of cars of every make, model, year. There is usually a good showing of early GM cars there.

Later, Kevin

Kevin,

Thks for the response - and thks for looking for me.

We tried cleaning it up but still having a problem with it. I think it's had it's day.

I keep missing the Great Adventure cruise, I don't want to miss it this time. I am planning on being there this time - with or without the Chevelle. My friend with his Camaro doesn't want to drive down there, too far for him, I'll try and convince him.

Thks

Rich

Rich, If all goes according to plan, look for a line of 1st gen Camaros right where you make the left hand turn after donating you $1. We are going to try to get the first row on the far side (which is right at that turn), so we can watch all the cars come in.

See ya there! Kevin

Kevin is right. The 4 way switch is available at most of the parts houses in reproduction. The singles are not.

Rich, Duh, I'm stupid! I had an downloaded copy of Rick's on my hard drive, forgot all about it.

Ground Up did not have it on their online catalog, but Rick's has it for about $60, new repo.

Let me know if/what you are driving to the cruise and I can look out for you. Or you can look for my car at the show (see pic in signature below)

Kevin,

If I bring the Chevelle - check out my signature - You'll be able to spot it - if I don't I'll be in a Grey Tahoe - with the wife and two little blonde kids, boy & girl - 7 n 8.

I'll look for your car either way. BTW nice Camaro - wish I had a drop top.

Thks for the info on Ricks - I'll pass on the info to him.

Thks

Rich

Rich, will do (I peeked at your car already, very nice Chevelle!), I have an 8 year old girl too, don't know if the kids are coming yet. I won't be able to see the Tahoe , they all look alike and you have to park it far away from the cars to get a spot!

See ya there, Kevin
