Quick question - I need an 18" thermostatic clutch compatible fan for my '69. The one I acquired for my big block which I laboriously sanded, primered and painted then installed was a 19" and wouldn't fit in my shroud.
I'm finally pretty close to firing up the big block and this is one of the final pieces I'm missing. Even though it's still about 180 degrees here in Phx. I'm willing to go "shopping" in the automotive wastelands if I can be fairly certain of finding one. So, does anyone know if these fans are fairly common at the bone yards? TIA - Jon ------------------ '69 Restification |

I did the same thing as you...cleaned up an original fan, only to discover it was too big. I bought one from Year One. not exact, but close.

I bought a 7 blade GM fan and shroud for my 69 396 from Rick's; 17" diameter.
Think the fan was around $65. joe ------------------ 69 SS396 Resti-Clone WCA Member Badboatdude@CS.com 69 Pics http://albums.photopoint.com/j/Album...559&a=11674961 [This message has been edited by Joe G (edited 09-05-2001).] [This message has been edited by Joe G (edited 09-05-2001).] |

Hey guys - just got back from the Pick-A-Part bone yard. Found a 7 blade 18" clutch fan out of a caddie for $5. Should work out just fine - appreciate your comments! Jon
