I noticed in a post on the performance thread that currently hydraulic roller lifters are very hard to find, and if you can find them, they are dramatically more expensive than they used to be.
Can anybody tell me what's going on to cause this?

there has been some discussion on this in the past. If you want more details try the search feature. What I recall is several companys made lifters for the various cam companys at one time. It was easy to keep up with demand but now all but one of the lifter comanys have closed their doors leaving one source for all and a larger demand than supply.
