I have just got around to putting the springs in my wife's 69 ragtop and it seems to me that the springs are a bit stiff?

Are there any other lighter springs available? I have not got all the vacuum up and running yet to see if they work?

Man, stiff isn't the word!! To put them on, the pivot shaft winds up cocked due to the tension which quickly breaks/wears out the cheesy plastic bushings. I haven't experimented with lower tension springs, yet. Hopefully, others will chime in. I'm all ears.

Are these those small springs that I think you have to attach behind the headlamp? Do you have to remove the headlamp and approach them from the front?
I never hooked those back up on my 68 and I've always wondered what effect they would have. Will they take the sluggishness out of closing and return the doors to a full closed position? Mine kind of go slowly especially the last little bit and the doors don't seem to close all the way (I can push them closed just a bit more after they stop).

I agree. It took about 10 minutes to get rid of all the pop-ups.
