I have just got around to putting the springs in my wife's 69 ragtop and it seems to me that the springs are a bit stiff?
Are there any other lighter springs available? I have not got all the vacuum up and running yet to see if they work? ------------------ STEVE "Jack'Stands" JACK Techical forum/links at Jack'Stands TechForums and Links |

Man, stiff isn't the word!! To put them on, the pivot shaft winds up cocked due to the tension which quickly breaks/wears out the cheesy plastic bushings. I haven't experimented with lower tension springs, yet. Hopefully, others will chime in. I'm all ears.

Are these those small springs that I think you have to attach behind the headlamp? Do you have to remove the headlamp and approach them from the front?
I never hooked those back up on my 68 and I've always wondered what effect they would have. Will they take the sluggishness out of closing and return the doors to a full closed position? Mine kind of go slowly especially the last little bit and the doors don't seem to close all the way (I can push them closed just a bit more after they stop). |

I agree. It took about 10 minutes to get rid of all the pop-ups.
