My friend has a 93 Z28 with a 6spd manual transmission. We were racing the other day, and I guess the high revs shook something loose. Anyhow, there is a high-pitched whine coming from the tranny. It increases in pitch with rpms, and disappears when the clutch is pressed. Also, it appears to vanish, or at least be harder to hear in 4th, 5th, and 6th gears. Any ideas on what might be causing this?
Thanks, Jacob

Doesn't sounds pretty-- could be the input shaft bearing or something on that end of the tranny... Time for the fun job of dropping the tranny. Also check the pilot bearing while it's out- it could get wiped out if the input bearing goes.
