i have a 4spd that i was told is for my 69 it has a cast case and 9 bolts that hold the cover on

Are all the shift levers in the side cover? If so it's a Saginaw.

It just dawned on me if it has 9bolts it some sort of a Borg. Warner trans. It didn't come out of a Camaro originally.

the levers dont go through a cover the only cover is located on the top of the tranny...i counted the teeth on the gears inside for the front and it had the same numbers as a muncie but i dont know here are the #s i found
2603435 g2578 under the shift levers and
2603734 on the tail shaft housing

It sure is a top loader. At one time it was a farely common swap before the ST10 came out but you don't see many in Chevs anymore.
