When adjusting the cable, should there be a clicking sound? I disconnect the cable at the carb, move the cable back & forth, and I don't hear anything. I've been told I should hear a clicking noise. Is the adjuster inside the trans shot? Or the cable stretched?
It won't shift up into 3rd & 4th.

The adjuster is in the cable, not the trans. You have to push in hard on the d-shaped metal part of the housing where it connects to the throttle bracket and the pull the cable's sheath out of the adjuster to reset the cable adjuster. Now when you push the cable sheath towards the adjuster housing you should hear the clicking.

LOL No wonder I wasn't getting anything. I'll give that a try. Thanks.
