im about to put my t-56 into my 68, and i was wondering if anyone makes a tranny crossmember to make it bolt right in?? Has anyone here done this??

i heard that a crossmember from a TH400 can be easily modified to be used for the tranny, is this true?? thanks

Do a search ob T56 and you'll find a lot of info on this swap. One of the members makes a crossmember just for this conversion.

Teetoe_Jones sells them (I think)

And Weir also has them. Here's a thread about the weir crossmember:

P.S. You have to search under the engine section. Before the recent upgrades, Transmissions were in the "engine & drivetrain" section

I'm using this one from Tyler (Teetoe Jones) on this site. Very professional kit. Uses all the stock Camaro holes, no drilling or mods to fit.

You'd have to get ahold of Tyler; I bought it as part of his complete kit which also has a firewall mounted clutch master bracket, clutch master, slave, and lines, plus the trans mount. Basically everything you need to mount the trans with a hydraulic clutch using the stock Camaro clutch pedal. You can e-mail Tyler at teetoe_jones@hotmail.com

I did it my modifying a standard TH400 Crossmember and relocating the crossmember back about 3" (one new hole per side). It's really pretty simple. But if you don't want to fabricate anything, Teetoe has an excellent kit as you probably have seen on these pages. You can see pictures, link below:

I make a bolt in T56 kit for your application. I'm also doing a group purchase on the kits, and we need 5 more people. Email me or check www.T56kit.com or www.pro-touring.com/t56 for details.
