Question

I am wanting to install a vintage air sysem into my 68. My question is whether or not a 69 vintage air system will fit in my 68. I can get a really good deal for the 69 system, that is why I am wondering? I called vintage air and they told me that they (68 and 69) were different. I couldn't figure out whether they just wanted to sell me a 68 system or if there is a major difference. Any info would be appreciated.

At one time I compared a 69 ac wiring harness to a 68. The connections on the back of the ac/heat control panel and the temp control switch on the suitcase (evaporator box) under the hood are different. There were other differences in the harnesses also. It was enough to make me decide that I didn't want the aggravation of trying to figure out the different operating controls for each system. I'm sure it could be done but for what it's worth, my suggestion is get the Vintage system for a 68.

I agreee. I have the vintage air system in my 67 and have delt with those guys for more than 3 years now. I can say without a doubt that they would not mislead you in any way. And FYI the after sales tech support there is terrific!! You can call anytime with questions, problems whatever and they are always top notch! By the way, the only problems I have had with their system have been self induced (I accidently wore a hole in a hose).
