I checked my "1968 Camaro Factory Assembly Instruction Manual". You know the Blue and White thing you can buy. I couldn't find the water pump only bolts, but it did have some of the studs used to mount accessory brackets that also serve as bolt for the pump and it stated 25 to 35 ft lbs. 30 sounds good to me. Its no wonder the factory had so much trouble in quality control. Trying to find something in this manual is a real pain. I have an Acura Integra shop manual for my daily. Now thats a good manual.

The water pump was installed to the engine at the engine plant, not the car assembly plant, which is why it isn't shown in the car assembly manual; its torque specs are shown in the Chassis Service Manual, along with all the other engine plant-installed fasteners.
