Should I even considering buying a car with missing cocktail shakers?
I think it is probably not a big deal, except I don't see them offered as a repro product. Are they pretty available at swaps? The car has the front ones. It is just missing the rears.

Where were you the last week or so? We've had some great insight into this subject... Use the search feature and you'll find all you need to know.
Here's a sample, this is right in the is forum and just a few days old. http://www.camaros.net/forum/ultimat...;f=17;t=000768 and read Steve's accounting on page two of this one (also this forum)... http://www.camaros.net/forum/ultimat...7;t=000738;p=1 and here's one from the "Body shop forum this month too... http://www.camaros.net/forum/ultimat...c;f=3;t=005036

I wouldn't pass on a solid convert just because the shakers are missing, but I'd use that fact as a bargaining chip and hopefully adjust the price accordingly. The shakers aren't impossible to find. I found mine last year after placing a wanted ad on this site within a week. I didn't notice any change in my car after installing them...but I have other suspension issues to deal with that are causing problems worse than "cowl shake".

69Rad,
Dennis posted some links for you to look into. Full of all the info you could need. Before buying my Camaro, I never even heard of "cocktail shakers", except for the ones you pour martinis outta! In short, yes they make a huge difference, no repops are available, and yes they do come up on EBay every so often. And if the car is otherwise sound, go for it. What is unusual in your case is that you have the fronts and not the rears. Its usually the other way around. The fronts are much tougher to get at. Reasons/ excuses for no cocktail shakers: 1. Damage at that area, and body shop or repair person didn't want to hassle putting 'em back in. 2. Making the car lighter and more responsive by removing them.(You save about 90 lbs total removing all 4, but the effect on handling negates the weight advantage, and nobady races convertibles anyway.) 3. Driver actually likes the shaking and twisting. 4. Owner doesn't log on to Team Camaro. Good luck, and let us know what you decide.
