Can anyone post pics of 2.5 or 3 inch dual exhaust on a 69 convertible? I have read previous posts and it looks like shimming the x-brace is the answer but it still looks like a tight fit. The local muffler shop said I can probably forget the x-brace since I tied the frame, replaced all bushings with poly and installed a 6 point cage. I would still like to keep the brace if possible. Thanks in advance.

pwoolford,

Here are some pics of my 69 vert with a good detail of the xbrace. The exhaust system is the Flowmaster American Thunder system and it fit with very minor tweaking.

Nice pics, Bob. What type of hangers are bolted to the rear floor?

Rick,

I think those are the ones that come in the American Thunder kit.

bob,

Thanks for the pics! Now I don't know whether to order an American Thunder system or take the car (and picture of yours) to my local exhaust shop.

BBCamaro,

This car will be mostly street. I'll probably take it to the track a couple times just for fun but I want to build a tubbed hard top big block next...that should satisfy my need for speed. I should have the 6 point done in about two weeks. I'll post pics then.
