I'm guessing it's supposed to reduce the wind blowing around in your pit. Likely to be seen when the wife/girlfriend is sitting next to you and her hair is blowing too much. Although my sweet wife has never complained

Frankly, I think it looks....lame. Why drive a convertible if the wind bothers you!

I really think that it looks stupid when the top is down and windows are up. What's worse is when only the back quarter windows are up! I see it all of the time out here on all types of ragtops....LAME!

Disclaimer...To any fellow ragtop owners reading this who enjoy driving with the top down and windows up, no offense intended. Just sharing my opinion.

Porsche I think has a windscreen that went up behind the front seats that worked good to reduce windblast. I haven't had a ragtop in years but don't remember that putting the windows up with the top down did anything except look stupid.

Although, maybe the window up thing on convertibles here in the desert is for those people who put the top down when it's blazing sun and 100 degrees. I suspect their A/C is on max. I see visitors leaving the rental car places around the airport all summer. That has to hurt.

The convertible dropped in popularity when guys started wearing long hair. The wind wouldn't bother you with a flat top, but I'll bet it was a PITA with a mullet.

Windows up with the top down is for Dorks!
