Hi Guys
Does anybody know if there is anything that holds the flap down on the part of the boot on a 68 conv the piece that lays over the top of the back seat.I just put on all new clips but don,t see anything that goes on that part of the boot.When you drive down the road the wind get up under there and i don,t think it should be like that.Anybody got any ideas

I believe it's susposed to be tucked under the fold of the top and down behind the seat back. That's how I do mine. I have seen both very soft and very rigid flaps and from personal experience the stiff one stays in place better...

Thanks Dennis but i don,t think i can tuck mine under the fold of the top.The top pretty well cover the top of the back seat and the seam at the back of the flap is quite a stretch.I had it sitting in the sun down here in Ontario Canada and know way can i stretch it that far.Maybe i will have to look at stiffening it up some how.Thanks again for the help

What Dennis mentions should work for you. But I also found is that when you lower the top, instead of letting the top fold fully, stop it when it is still a foot or so above the well. Tuck in the top material that would cover the rear seat back. Then lower it fully. The boot flap should now easily tuck down between the seatback and top material.

I have the same exact problem. I've tried every thing I can to get the flap tucked between the top and the seat and nothing works. Not even close to fitting. I've decided that the boot I have must have shrunk over the years. I seen a 69 vert a while back that had snaps across the flap. There is a thin metal strip that runs behind the back seat where the bottom part of the snaps were attached. Not factory but looked pretty good. I'm just going to buy a new boot. Any recommendation on where to get a good quality one?

Larry, I just pick up the best repro one from Ricks. Looks good and correct and does fit (tight though). I figure it will strech a little. I will have to try the fold method to get the flap to stay.

look in the folder where it says pinchweld. real easy install. it took about 10 minutes.
